In a bid to source the talent of Indian developers, Facebook held a three-month nationwide contest for the best social networking applications. The Facebook Developer Contest India began in July and the results were presented in two categories - apps that integrated Facebook Connect and regular applications.
The second prize in this category went to Green Mango, a website that provides a directory of services available in the unorganised work sector, like electricians, domestic helps and plumbers. In the regular applications category, the first prize went to multiplayer word game Grabbler, that's built along the lines of Scrabble and has a grid consisting of 144 cubes (12x12).
